Naturalizations

Overview

Pursuant to the Judicial Naturalization Ceremonies Amendments of 1992 (PL 102-232), the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico has elected to conduct Oath-taking ceremonies for applicants who have completed the process for becoming a U.S. citizen.  The Court is proud to be part of this very special event, as new citizens finalize their journey and take the Oath of Citizenship to their new home and country.

The Court schedules Naturalization Ceremonies in each of its divisional offices throughout the year.  Dates and times are posted below.  The public is welcome to attend these ceremonies.  If a school or other large group is interested in attending a Naturalization Ceremony, please contact the court at 505-348-2000 to make arrangements so there is sufficient seating available.

Please note, the Court is not involved in the process prior to taking the Oath of Citizenship.  This is handled by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).  A link to the “Guide to Naturalization” is provided below, as well as a link to the USCIS website.  Information on the requirements and procedures to becoming a U.S. Citizen is available there.

If you are a naturalized citizen needing a copy of your Naturalization Certification, please use Form N-565 and the corresponding instructions.  Again, all questions or concerns regarding this form, or any other information regarding citizenship (i.e. "Application for Citizenship" or when you are scheduled to take the Oath of Allegience) should be directed to USCIS.  The National Customer Service phone number is 1-800-375-5283
