The POWER Act
The Pro bono Work to Empower and Represent (POWER) Act was enacted into law on September 4, 2018. The POWER Act directs the chief judge of every judicial district to hold annual events to promote pro bono legal services as "a critical way in which to empower survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and engage citizens in assisting those survivors."
The District of New Mexico will co-sponsor events each year and information will be updated to this page and dissiminated as it becomes available.
