Information Sheet for Temporary Restraining Order

Body:

A completed Information Sheet for TRO is required for all motions for temporary restraining order. The Information Sheet for TRO will identify the parties and attorneys involved in the matter. It will also provide the Court with scheduling information if a hearing is being requested.

PROCEDURE FOR NEW CASE
When applying for a temporary restraining order in a new case, the complaint or other initiating document must be filed with a civil cover sheet. The motion for TRO with a completed Information Sheet for TRO must also be filed.

Soon after the new case has been opened, the Case Assignment section will be notified automatically via email. The case will then be randomly assigned (notice of the judge assignment will be via NEF). The Case Assignment clerk will contact the assigned trial judge’s chambers to alert them to the new case and motion for TRO.

PROCEDURE FOR PENDING CASES
Complete all sections of the Information Sheet for TRO and file it as an attachment to the motion for TRO.

IN ALL CASES
The TRO application process will proceed more smoothly and quickly, the earlier in the day the request is made.
