TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF NEW MEXICO PETE V. DOMENICI COURTHOUSE

 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Pete V. Domenici United States Courthouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico will be closed this Thursday and Friday, April 16 and 17, 2020 for cleaning due to a court patron recently testing positive for COVID-19.

The United States District Court, District of New Mexico made the decision to close the courthouse to ensure the safety and health of all.  In accordance with CDC guidance, building operation and cleaning protocols of the General Services Administration (GSA), and COVID-19 protocols of the Federal Judiciary, the courthouse will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before reopening to court staff and individuals with official business. We currently have no indication that court staff were in direct contact with the patron, however, staff members that were in the same area as the patron have been asked to self-quarantine for fourteen (14) days as a precautionary measure.

The courthouse has been operating with minimal staff on site since March 16, 2020, when staff were authorized to telework from home. The courthouse was closed to the public on April 1, 2020 via Administrative Order 20-MC-04-15. Only limited staff and individuals with official business have been permitted entry since the file date of this order.

This closure only covers the Pete V. Domenici U.S. Courthouse located at 333 Lomas Blvd. NW, Albuquerque NM. All other United States District Court, District of New Mexico courthouses are open subject to the limitations identified in Administrative Order 20-MC-04-15 and other COVID-19 related orders (20-MC-04-14, 20-MC-04-13, 20-MC-04-12, 20-MC-04-10).
