Temporary Closure of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico Las Cruces U.S. Courthouse

LAS CRUCES, N.M – The United States Courthouse in Las Cruces, New Mexico will be closed to public access, effectively immediately, through Friday, July 24, 2020 due to a contractor recently testing positive for COVID-19. 

With the areas of the Courthouse that have to be professionally cleaned and disinfected and with the number of Court security personnel who have to be tested and/or quarantined, the Chief Judge in consultation with the Las Cruces Judges followed the recommendation of the U.S. Marshals Service to close the Courthouse to the public to ensure the safety and health of all. Court staff and those limited number of individuals with official court business will be permitted entry.

All scheduled videoconference hearings using Zoom will proceed as scheduled.  If you have an in-person matter scheduled before the court on July 22, July 23, or July 24, please contact the judge’s chambers for information on your case. Clerk’s Office staff are also available by phone.

This closure only covers the U.S. Courthouse located at 100 N. Church Street, Las Cruces, New Mexico. All other United States District Court, District of New Mexico courthouses are open subject to the limitations identified in Administrative Order 20-MC-04-27 and other COVID-19 related orders (20-MC-04-26; 20-MC-04-25; and 20-MC-04-22).
